The 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Backlash

2021s Rock and Roll hall of fame marks the most diverse group of genres in the organisation’s history.

To be eligible for induction into the rock and roll hall of fame an artist needs to have recorded music for at least 25 years before they are nominated.

In the performer category; groups like Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, JAY-Z as well as a few others will be involved. The late Randy Rhoads who played in the bands Quiet Riot and Ozzy Osbourne.

Gene Simmons says the exclusion of Iron Maiden into the hall of fame was ‘’Disgusting’’ and that ‘’The Hall should be ashamed of themselves’’ for not allowing Rage Against the Machine a spot In the hall.

In February, Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider slammed the Hall of Fame committee by writing, “The RnR Hall committee members are arrogant elitist assholes who look down on metal & other bands that sell millions because we’re not their definition of cool.

Although Gene Simmon’s and many others agree that Maiden should take the spot, Bruce Dickinson has already declared that Iron Maiden refuse induction due to the Hall being ran “ by a bunch of sanctimonious bloody Americans who wouldn’t know rock ‘n’ roll if it hit them in the face.”

Speaking to Joe Farr, a usual fan of bands like Oasis and Stone Roses, he thinks Rage Against the Machine should be inducted ‘’in an ideal world, although their political stance would mean their induction would be pointless’’.

Speaking to someone else: ”its not really the rock and roll hall of fame anymore since its more about how cool an artists is, to be honest, I don’t really care, my music is what I like and it wouldn’t matter if it was in a hall of fame ”

Is the Rock and Roll hall of fame pointless or lost its touch and is it worth it? People are wondering if we even need a hall of fame, after all isn’t rock and roll supposed to be free?
