Google Forms is a capable replacement for Survey Monkey at Marjon

You may be aware of Google Forms, you may not.  As a form solution, it covers all the basics and so much more.

At Marjon, Survey Monkey has provided the benchmark for staff and students to produce online forms.  Due to a change in policy and proceedure, this service is now less favourable.

Google Forms is free and (in typical Google tradition) is very intuitive, portable and extremely collaborative.  The process of creating a form from scratch is quick and as simple as any other form editors.  A gmail account is required.  If you have one already, then you can start using forms.  If you don’t, then signing up is also a quick process.  A gmail account also includes cloud solutions such as Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Drive.

This video shows the process of creating a basic form. (updated to the new Google forms March 16)

More complex forms are possible like directing users to different pages depending on their answers.

Reporting is possible using smart graphs as well as CSV exporting for analysis in Excel (or google sheets!).

As with any Google product, there is a wealth of tutorials and supporting video online.  If you require any assistance with finding such content, please contact the MeLT team. elearning@marjon.ac.uk

As staff at Marjon, we have access to the ‘Google Apps for Education’ suite.  This includes all the above cloud solutions with no limitation on storage.  The content within a GAFE account is held under the Marjon name and uses your Marjon email for  login. If you wish to have an account, please contact Zac Gribble – zgribble@marjon.ac.uk
