What we do

The Digital Innovation Team work to provide both staff and students with easy access to information, resources and support related to the use of digital technology at Plymouth Marjon University. Our aims are to provide:

  • A digitally capable campus for students and staff
  • Give students the opportunities to develop their own digital identity
  • Help equip students with the required digital skills when moving into employment
  • A safe system that protects both students and staff
  • A seamless digital learning environment
  • A range of support materials and guidance to help support staff and students with digital tools
  • Training and development sessions for staff and students related to IT & digital technology

 

Who we are

The Digital Innovation Team are housed in the W block building, in rooms W106, W107 and W110.  We provide support across a range of digital technology systems here at Plymouth Marjon University, including: LearningSpace (Moodle), Turnitin, Panopto (Replay), Checkin, Mahara & Edublogs.  We also research and investigate the use of digital tools to help inspire a digitally capable campus, this covers the use of tools like Socrative, Padlet and Mentimeter.  In addition, we offer training course for staff and students covering the use of IT software, like Microsoft Word, Excel and Access as well as offering ICDL (International Certificate in Digital Literacy) & advanced ICDL qualifications.  We have a dedicated training room in W109, which is primarily used for training in IT-related software.
