Handling feedback
During your time at university you will receive feedback in a number of ways. Handling feedback is a useful skill to have and is an essential tool for your learning and development. Although you will receive feedback on your assignments, part of being an independent learner is having the ability to actively seek feedback from your module leaders or personal tutor, reflecting on this feedback and formulating a plan to put these recommendations into action. Click here to access the Study Skills guide to Handling Feedback.
University of Leeds (2019) provides fantastic guidance on the typical areas of feedback in assignments, examples of the type of feedback given and advice on how to put feedback into action. It is divided into five broad areas:
- Structure and coherence
- Research and referencing
- Criticality and argument
- Language and style
- Understanding content
