In today’s lecture we were visited by playwright Chris Savery who taught us some writing and storytelling techniques to use in the future by getting us to do simple tasks such as writing about ourselves, writing a story using every letter in the alphabet in order and going around in a circle saying a sentence for a story. At the end of the lecture we were put in small groups and asked to perform a short play we’ve written using a short line of dialogue. This was a very enjoyable lecture and certainly a very useful one, I learned a lot about how to get started in terms of writing and learned to just keep things simple and not overthink things when starting to write.
