This was the final session with Scott Silsbury treating clients and learning to use the laser therapy machine. Confidence using the laser without assistance has increased and working with clients has also improved. A variety of clients were seen throughout the day also with some similar injuries and symptoms, below are some examples of these clients.

The first client was a footballer with a complaint of ankle pain and weakness, the clinical impression was MTSS and DDx of chronic ankle instability. The client received laser therapy and massage around both ankles and calfs, with some massage applied to the tibialis anterior muscle. The client found a decrease in pain and an increase in ROM at the ankle after treatment.

The next client was a female with some signs of OA in both wrists which increases in pain after overuse. Laser therapy and massage was applied to both wrists and forearms. The client has noticed a decrease in pain after receiving treatment and completing exercises over the previous weeks.

Other clients were also seen for low back pain, glute pain and adductor pain. The same protocol was followed for these clients where laser therapy was applied followed by massage. The clients also discussed the previously prescribed exercises where they were progressed or regressed where appropriate.

The final client was a female who has recently completed treatment for breast cancer and wishes to increase strength and decrease pain that she has been experiencing at the right hip. The session began with some laser treatment to the hip then progressed to strengthening in the gym. This began with a warmup of the clients choice on the cross trainer for 5 mins. The session then continued to the squat rack where 8×4 was performed with the weight increased up to a new PB of 45kg. The end of the session consisted of a circuit of lateral step ups, ski pull and then hamstring curls on a ball.
