Reflection 14/03/19

Massaged clients quads.

Feedback: Good measurement of pressure. conscious of knee joint pain and awareness of patient.

Summary: After palpation Recfem was found to be painful. After treatment pain had decreased and flexibility has increased.

Improvements: Be more informative and don’t forget to talk to each client the same.

Reflection 11/03/19

Massaged clients quads.

Feedback: Legs feel more relaxed. Responsive when I was experiencing pain and lots of communication.

Summary: Massaged clients quads as they were tight and causing difficulties climbing stairs. After treatment client feels more relaxed and can go up and down stairs a lot easier.

Improvements: Working with clients pain threshold as at points I went a bit too hard.

Reflection 25/02/19

On this day I had 2 clients:

Client 1:

Massaged hamstrings due to tightness.

Feedback: Feel relaxed and could have fallen asleep during the massage. Very professional, and confident with speaking about the treatment and made me feel at ease.

Summary: Massaged clients hamstrings due to tightness of running all week and unable to strech due to time. Client feels relaxed after treatment and ROM has increased.

Improvements: Talk less and listen to the client and concentrate on the task at hand.

Client 2:

Massaged clients back and shoulders.

Feedback: Showed a great way to relief tension in my neck at work and will show others. As always very professional and confident, will recommend and come back for more treatments!

Summary: Massaged clients back and shoulders, afterwards showed client a way of releasing tension in the neck whilst at work to allow for more comfort.

Improvements: Time keeping as to leave time to write up notes and tidy up before next client comes in.

Reflection 19/02/19

On this day I was clinic manager and was in charge of making sure all the therapists had a client allocated to them when the clients didn’t book in with a certain one. I was in charge of keeping time and warnings so that the therapists knew how long they had left to massage and could respond appropriately. At the end of the session I would be in charge of making the clinic tidy and neat for the next class to come into and all the beds had at least two stools at the end of the bed.

Reflection 04/02/19

On this day I massaged 2 clients:

client 1:

Massaged back and shoulders.

Feedback: Informative and good communication. Very relaxing – thoughtful and confident whilst massaging.

Summary: Client has rolled shoulders and massaged the shoulders, with pressure points and taping at the end to aid with posture.

Improvements: Time keeping as it was a morning massage to leave early to allow time to get to the clinic.

Client 2:

Massaged lower back and tape.

Feedback: from the last session the tape really worked and requested to have the tape again, through the massage very professional, talkative and informed me on what he was doing.

Summary: From the last session the tape reduced pain and has request the tape again which will improve my technique.

Improvements: Improve on my note taking as too slow and time creeps up on me.

Reflection 15/01/19

On this day I massaged 3 clients:

Client 1:

Massaged clients quads as they had DOMs from the gym earlier in the week.

Feedback: Super professional, efficient and friendly while helping + massaging.

Summary: Tested quads and they could barley move, after treatment movement and strength had increased and the client feels more relaxed.

Improvements: Make sure nails are cut and filed before massaging and to be more talkative.

Client 2:

Massaged lower back and also taped back.

Feedback: So good! well informed and a range of knowledge and advice – relaxing massage very considerate and commutative.

Summary: STM on the lower back, tape on the lower back, increased clients ROM, reduced pain and feels relaxed.

Improvements: Time keeping and Nails from the first client as didn’t give myself time to set up for second client.

Client 3:

Massaged clients Hamstrings after a hockey game at the weekend.

Feedback: Feels so much better, more relaxed, very professional and talkative.

Summary: Massaged clients hamstrings as they had a build up of lactic acid due to the client training 3 times a week and playing at weekends. Client feels more relaxed and ROM increased.

Improvements: Time keeping as a snow ball effect from the first 2 clients and nails.

Reflection 14/01/19

Massaged clients back, shoulders and neck.

Feedback: Great communication, feeling the benefits a lot, relaxing experience and informative.

Summary: Massaged the client shoulders and neck, taped the lower back to help reduce pain for everyday routine.

Improvements: Be prepared for taping and have scissors on me, look up more taping techniques.

Reflection 10/01/19

Massaged clients back as they suffer from back pain.

Feedback: Really good massage, good communication throughout, and feel so much better, thank you!

Summary: Massaged clients back using pressure points to tight areas and client increased in flexibility and feels more relaxed.

Improvements: Time keeping as I lost track of time and went over.

Reflection 14/12/18

Massaged clients quads as they played rugby at the weekend and requested a STM.

Feedback: Quads feel much more relaxed and a lot better, I can now squat without any problem.

Summary: Massaged clients quads as they were tight possibly from lactic acid build up.

Improvements: Time management as I was late and rushed the warm up.

Assessment Reflection 11/12/19

Massaged hamstrings and calfs as they were tight.

Feedback: Overall a very good massage, feel more relaxed and chilled.

Summary: STM on hamstrings and calfs, they feel better and relaxed with increased flexibility and ROM.

Improvements: Remember to talk to client and do not get complacent just because you know them on a personal level.
