About Me

My name is Jack Pearson and I am a first year student at the University of St Mark and St John studying BA Sports Development (Coaching and School Sports). I currently have a part time job at Indoor Active as a climbing instructor, working closely with a variety of individuals of all ages and abilities.  This has inspired me to become a PE teacher, with a view to specialise in the field of Special Educational Needs.

Sports has always been a big part of my life since I have been growing up. From the age of 9 I was a member of Coverack Gig Club, which was the first sports club I joined. As I progressed through my secondary education, I showed an avid interest in rugby, which led to being part of the school team for 5 years. As I entered further education, I continued my participation in rugby and gig rowing.

It was during my time at Truro College and being involved within the sporting community, I found myself helping people that were new to the team, struggling and needed guidance. From this point, I knew that I wanted to focus more on the coaching and development through improvement than just being part of a team. Although being part of a team is important, I feel as though individual improvement and progression is just as important.
