Session 29

Date: 07/03/20
Group or individual with whom I worked: Tavistock Rugby Club

BEFORE my placement …
Today’s session is a home game. Since their was no training on Tuesday, I am unaware of any injuries that may have happened during the week and not everyone came to the physio session so we will need to assess some players before the game to see if they are match fit.

DURING my placement
Luckily, only 1 player that was previously injured did not attend Tuesdays physio session, so we only had to assess his foot/ankle. There was full strength and mobility in the joint and only 2/10 pain, so we deemed him fit to play. During the game I was relatively relaxed, there was only 1 time in which I had to go on to the field and that was to quickly re-tape a player’s knee with rigid tape. Apart from that, it was a quiet day.

AFTER my placement …
Before- hamstring massages, lower leg massage, ankle and thumb taping
During- knee taping
After- nothing

Document and evaluate how you felt through-out your placement today. Then draw a conclusion.
I was pleased with my abilities to run onto the pitch, quickly re-tape the players knee to a high standard then remove myself from the pitch. I sometimes worry that I take too long, but this time seemed good to me.
