Andy Serkis Revives Gollum For Theresa May Spoof

Lord of The Rings’ very own Gollum voice-star Andy Serkis has revived the iconic character this week for a very eerie parody of Theresa May and her Brexit plan. Watch the video below:

In a sketch titled “LEAKED: Footage From Inside No 10 Downing Street”, the actor appeared dressed as the Prime Minister in her signature blue suit, red painted nails and pearls, fixated on her “precious” agreement for the UK to withdraw from the EU. The clip sees Serkis recreate a famous scene from Lord of The Rings The Two Towers, in which the fantasy character’s two competing personalities, Gollum and Sméagol, argue but here they debate whether Brexit is truly in the nation’s best interests.

The actor shared the video on Twitter with the highly satirical caption: “We’s in a nasty mess my precioussss…and there’s only one way out….We wants it. We neeeeds it!”

“It hurts the people, makes them poorer,” pleads one side.

The other exclaims: “But I finds it and negotiates it. We wants it! We has to do it! This is the only deal. Juicy and sweet. We will have it.”

Mrs May then reaches for her thick copy of the withdrawal agreement which she strokes and holds up while eerily muttering: ‘my Brexit’.

This was the spoof we never really asked for, but the spoof we all really needed.

‘We takes back control – money, borders, laws, blue passportses’
