After many months of speculation and rumour that The Grand Tour won’t continue after the third season, Amazon today has confirmed that a fourth season will be happening. Clarkson, Hammond and May will be returning to our screens this Christmas for The Grand Tour Season 3 on Amazon Prime, being released on the streaming service on January 18th. Watch the trailer for the upcoming series below:
In ‘a note from Amazon’ on official The Grand Tour Twitter account: “We’re excited to announce that we have renewed The Grand Tour for season 4, and proud that Prime Video will continue to be the home for Jeremy, Richard and James for years to come. Season four will see the guys ditch the tent to take on big adventure road trips that we know Prime members love” Accompanying the Tweet was the caption: “Good news: After season 3 The Grand Tour will be returning for an even bigger adventure. Bad News: We have a tent to sell”
According to Amazon, the trio will be ditching the tent, instead just focussing on high budget adventures around the world. This means the end of the Eboladrome, the end of the tent, and the end as the live shows as we know it! Therefore, the end of an era. “There are only so many times you can watch a BMW go round the track,” Jeremy Clarkson says. “It’s the end of an era.” Clarkson will be on UK telly solo soon for a full series of his revival of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, on New Year’s Day at 9pm on ITV.
Season 5 has also been confirmed, as have four special episodes a year. And when asked about a budget, Clarkson replied with, “Marvel will be jealous of our budgets”.
