January European football transfer window news: Biggest transfer gossip

With the transfer of Erling Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund for a region of £20 – 30 million taking the limelight of this January transfer window I wanted to showcase other major transfer rumours which could affect your club!

Bruno Fernandes (Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United)

Manchester United have reportedly enquired Sporting Lisbon about their Centre Attacking Midfielder Bruno Fernandes about signing the player for a reported £50 million according to the Daily Mail. Fernandes has been a key player for Sporting Lisbon who has scored 6 goals and made 7 assists in 14 league appearances which is an impressive tally. Ole Gunner Solskjaer is in need of a creative player as Andreas Pereira hasn’t been fulfilling his potential in his number 10 role at the club so Fernandes would be a solid signing for The Red Devils.

Oliver Giroud ( Chelsea to Inter Milan )

Chelsea and Inter Milan have reportedly agreed personal terms for player Olivier Giroud who’s agent was spotted in Milan according to The Sun. Giroud has seemed to not be including in Frank Lampard’s plans for the foreseeable future so a move abroad would be a smart move for the 33 year old as he is entering into the twilight of his career. Lukaku and Lauro Martinez have been firing On all cylinders for the Serie A giants but a back up striker could be a useful resource if one of the 2 strikers gets injured.

Krzysztof Piatek (AC Milan to Tottenham Hotspur)

Tottenham and AC Milan have held talks about signing Krzysztof Piatek this month according to Sky Sports. No deal has been made currently. I think Piatek will be a good signing for Spurs due to Harry Kane’s recent hamstring injury against the 1-0 defeat to Southampton On New Years’ Day. Piatek has netted 7 times in 18 games for Serie A in a struggling Milan side who sit 11th in the league. Piatek will be keen to jump from a sinking ship so I would expect him leave this transfer window.

Rhian Brewster: (Liverpool to Swansea Loan)

Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster has completed a loan move to Swansea for the rest of the season after struggling for first team opportunities in a phenomenal Liverpool side this season. The 19 year old will be eager to make an impression in the Championship by trying to achieve promotion with Swansea City back into The Premier League as the South Wales team got relegated at the end of the 2017/2018 season.
