Graham Potter – The New Manager Of The Month?

Is Graham Potter to be the new Premier League Manger of the Month? It has not been an easy ride for the Seagulls with the teams first win of this year against Leeds in early January. Potter is up against Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and David Moyes of West Ham United.

It’s been clear that Brighton was struggling to score goals this season – the longer they left it, the closer they got to relegation zone. That was until January 31st where the Seagulls astonishingly beat Tottenham Hotspur at the American Express Community Stadium. Prior to this, Graham Potter’s side were the only team in the top four divisions without a home league win this season. It is crucial for Brighton to stay focused with the game – a recent and shocking win at Anfield on Wednesday 3rd February took Brighton up to 15th place from 17th place, making them ten points clear of the relegation zone.

It has been an extremely shocking turnaround in results for the Seagulls, with their previous two Premier League games resulting in wins against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively.

Despite this upturn in results, the Brighton boss still has a lot of work to do in order to see his team safe and secure in the Premier League. Fans have been going wild in Twitter with them in awe of wanting the manager to win – “It has to be Graham Potter. 10 points from 12. Wins against Spurs and Liverpool”, “I would have said Pep as he’s about to win the league again thanks to his recent form but Graham Potter deserves it for that Anfield win”, “Graham Potter without an absolute doubt this month!” These recent tweets have not even come from Brighton fans. It seems that Potter’s most recent performances have gained him a new following in the Premier League world!
