Bafflegab
Definition :
confusing or generally unintelligable jargon; gobbledegook
This morning I stumbled across an interesting word which caught my eye and it’s another I’d never heard of before. It seems really curious to me that so often words can be descriptive of their meaning. This word totally sums up nonsense and is a perfect description and it makes me wonder why it isn’t used more often? Gobbledegook is one we all know and occasionally use, but bafflegab seems perfectly apt to describe when somebody is talking utter tosh!
What a shame there are so many words in our own language which are quite beautiful, yet so few people know them and so, consequently, they are rarely used and will ultimately just be forgotten.
