It’s the third round draw for the FA Cup tonight.
The smaller clubs have had their chance at centre stage but now it’s time to welcome the heavyweights.
All but two of the second round games have been decided, Stockport County and Charlton Athletic along with Dagenham & Redbridge and Gillingham are set to replay each other on the 6th December.
The lowest ranked team in the second round was Alvechurch FC of the Southern Premier League Division Central, but their FA Cup campaign came to an end as they lost 3-1 to Forest Green Rovers.
Now the lowest ranked club in the FA Cup is Boreham Wood, They currently sit 11th in the Vanarama National League.
Boreham Wood will be hoping to repeat their FA Cup campaign of last year, they made it to the 5th round, knocking out AFC Wimbledon and AFC Bournemouth on the way.
Unfortunately, the county of Devon will have to look to next year’s FA Cup as all four clubs have been eliminated.
Plymouth Parkway got eliminated by Oxford City in the penultimate qualifying round, whilst Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City got battered by Grimsby Town and Oxford United respectively.
Torquay United didn’t make it past the first round, a surperb 2-2 draw against Derby County meant they had to replay at Pride Park.
Derby County went on to win 5-0, bringing an end to The Gulls FA Cup campaign.
One team to watch going into the third round has to be Wrexham.
They’ve had a strong start so far, beating Oldham 2-0 in the first round and then beating Farnborough 4-1 on Saturday.
Their star striker Paul Mullin, who’s been a fan favourite since he arrived at the club, has already scored five goals in the cup and is in fine form.
