Plymouth City council to install controversial parking meters on the Plympton Ridgeway

Plymouth City Council has installed new parking meters on the Ridgeway in Plympton. The meters will charge people who park in the two main car parks on the Ridgeway £2 if they are to stay for over two hours with the cost increasing the longer a visitor stays.

The decision has sparked controversy with people who frequent the Ridgeway, so I went to the Ridgeway to speak to shoppers to see what they thought.

The Council plans to go ahead with its plans despite complaints from local residents.
