CLINICAL REFLECTION – 28/1/19

Date Location Total Amount of Hours Overview of Session
28/1/19 Marjon sports clinic 2 Practising MET (PIR and RI) on upper and lower limb.
Reflective Summary Areas for further Improvement plus action plan
In the build-up to my soft tissue to my exam, I was concerned about my level of knowledge on the difference between PIR and RI and which is most appropriate in certain situations. I spent the two hours using my notes and the case studies practicing PIR on every area of the body in which I had learnt. I then repeated this for RI and came up with a variety of circumstances and tested myself by explaining which technique would be more appropriate for each and why. Continue practising MET and use it alongside other techniques such as taping and STM. Research other body parts it is an effective treatment for, other than the ones we have already learnt.
Returning to reflections at a later date
Following this session, I feel a lot more confident in performing both techniques on all body parts both upper and lower limb. I feel this has helped me as I am now more willing to use both techniques in my treatments.
