Turnitin: Exporting a Powerpoint to PDF with notes on a Mac

PowerPoint presentations can be submitted to Turnitin in their standard .ppt or .pptx format, but if you need tutors to see any notes that you have added to slides you will need to change the file type and settings of your presentation prior to submission. This short guide takes you through the steps required to do this.

Preparing your presentation for submission

  1. Once you have the presentation open you will need to go to the ‘Print’ option from the ‘File’ menu

2. Once you have the ‘Print’ dialogue box open you can choose what to export from the ‘Print What:’ drop down, for example slides or notes.

3. You will then need to use the ‘PDF’ drop down to select the ‘Save as PDF’ option. This will bring up another dialogue box to select where to save the PDF.

4. From this dialogue box you can select where to save the PDF and what to call it. Once you have saved it, this file will be ready for upload.
