Be curious

The following advice is adapted from that available on the MIND website.

Reminding yourself to ‘be curious’ or ‘take notice’ can strengthen and broaden awareness.

Studies have shown that being aware of what is taking place in the present directly enhances your well-being and savouring ‘the moment’ can help to reaffirm your life priorities.

Heightened awareness also enhances your self-understanding and allows you to make positive choices based on your own values and motivations.

Take some time to enjoy the moment and the environment around you. Here are a few ideas:

  • Get a plant for your room
  • Have a ‘clear the clutter’ day
  • Take notice of how those you live with are feeling or acting
  • Take a different route on your journey to or from Uni or work
  • Visit a new place for lunch (or take your packed lunch to a new location on campus)
  • Download our Wellbeing Journal (here:- Wellbeing Journal_01 ) and do one or two activities to ground yourself

And if none of the above seem right for you right now, why not check out our calendar to see if any of our fresher events inspire you to take more notice of the good things around you.
