Role Description: “Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Serco and Alzheimer’s Society are delighted to be in the process of launching a new service for people with dementia, their carers and families at Derriford Hospital in the form of a new Memory Café held weekly at the hospital. We are looking for volunteers to help get the Memory Café established and then to be a part of assisting those attending the cafe. We are also keen to recruit lead volunteers who can take responsibility for the group on a regular basis. Following training this will involve planning for the afternoon’s activities and, supported by the other volunteers, ensuring the smooth running of the session.”

Job Title: Dementia Adviser Support Volunteer

Hours: Flexible (need to be able to commit to a minimum of half a day per week)
Role Description: “Dementia adviser volunteers provide a key role in supporting the dementia advisers to provide an effective information and signposting service, working with people who need additional support to access information or services they have been signposted to.”
