All of our programmes are delivered under the ActiveChoices umbrella and ActiveLife is a small group personal training programme that acts as a progression from our other programmes but also as a self-referred exercise referral scheme.

All about ActiveLife
An eight week programme that offers small group personal training for people with chronic health conditions.
Week 1: Initial Assessment/Orientation/Goal setting
Complete a health questionnaire, get to meet the team, Initial measures (BP, HR, Body composition etc), intro to exercise, walking, intro to pedometers

Week 2: Exercise is for Life
Pedometer diary reflections, walking, exercise intensity workshop, weekly task

Week 3: Cardio variety
Reflections on last weeks task, intro to gym-based cardiovascular machines (technique, intensity, safety and effectiveness)
Week 4: Stronger bones & joints
Reflections on last weeks task, intro to resistance exercise, home-based exercise routine, intro to the sports therapy clinic, weekly task

Week 5: Stronger core
Reflections on last weeks task, intro to resistance equipment in the gym, all about balance and core exercise, weekly task

Week 6: Personalised Programme
Reflections on last weeks task, a chance to reflect on the activities of previous weeks and start to build a personalised programme, weekly task
Week 7: Becoming more independent
Reflections on last weeks task, complete an activity session with more independence (but under supervision!), weekly task

Reflections on the programme, revisit initial measures from week 1. Agree new goals.
