OneLife: Type 1 Diabetes Lifestyle Support Programme
This is information for those that have secured a place on the first of our lifestyle support programmes for Insulin Pump users delivered in partnership Derriford Hospital’s Diabetes Centre.
The programme starts on Tuesday 6th June 2017 (6:30pm – 8pm) and will take place in the Marjon Sport & Health Centre
Parking is available outside the sports centre and is free after 5pm, you won’t need to ‘pay and display’. Upon arrival, please report to the main Sport Centre reception and take a seat in our café, where we’ll meet you.
Please bring with you, or wear, comfortable clothing, footwear and a drink. We will be active in these sessions although the intensity and duration of the activity will be of a moderate nature.
For your information and to help you anticipate the activity we’ll be doing, the first session will involve a short assessment of aerobic capacity that will last about 12-15 minutes and will start with slow steps onto a box and then progress to about 3 minutes of stepping where you are slightly out of breath. An effort similar to a 15 min walk to the shop, ending in a walk up a hill to your house.
For more information about the programme, please see the relevant section on our website, https://sites.marjon.ac.uk/activechoices/onelife/
We would ask that you contact us on 01752 636824 or FacultyAdmin@marjon.ac.uk if you have any problems attending.
I look forward to meeting you.
Regards,
Ben Jane
