ARGYLE’S young goalkeeper Michael Cooper has garnered plenty of attention after his outstanding performance in the 1-1 draw with Everton in the Premier League Cup on Sunday.
The 20-year-old custodian produced a number of saves throughout the game, which drew plenty of praise, particularly from the people who were running the live blog at Liverpool Echo, with a reporter saying someone should get his number.
While the plaudits are richly deserved, Argyle manager Ryan Lowe dismissed any idea of Coops being available.
“No-one is going to be getting his phone number, no-one is going near my players,” he said.
“I haven’t thought of that because he’s my goalkeeper, he’s contracted to us, he’s not going anywhere.”
“And if he does, we want a lot of money for him,” Lowe joked.
With the January transfer window coming up extremely soon, be prepared for the speculation season to get underway.
