The Premier League player of the month award is a great achievement for players who play in the Premier League. The very first award was awarded in August 1994 to Jürgen Klinsmann when he was playing for Tottenham Hotspur.
Since then many players have won this spectacular award, but there is one player who stands out individually, Sergio Aguero. Sergio Aguero has won the award 7 times as of 02/10/2020. All awarded to him while playing for Manchester City.
It is now October 2020, and the Premier League needs to find out who will be awarded this award for their star performances in September 2020. That is where the fans come in. It is up to the fans to vote for the winner and grant that player the prestigious Premier League player of the month award.
The September 2020 player of the month nominees have been announced with the list of players including,
Patrick Bamford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Timothy Castagne, Harry Kane, Tariq Lamptey, Sadio Mane, James Rodriguez and Jamie Vardy.
The current favourite is Dominic Calvert-Lewin due to flying start in Everton colours under Carlo Ancelotti, scoring 5 goals in 3 games.
Jamie Vardy is in a close 2nd due to him also scoring 5 goals for Leicester City who have secured 9 points from a possible 9.
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane picked up 3 goals against Chelsea and Arsenal, starting their season on a high and making himself the 3rd favourite to win the prestigious award.
Any of the nominees could win the award but we must wait for the voting to finish and just keep asking ourselves;
Who is the most deserving?
One of the three favourites?
Or maybe someone else in the nominees list?
We will find out in the coming weeks.
