Novak Djokovic sealed his place in the fourth round of Roland Garros. Since the incident during the US Open, Novak has not allowed the controversial disqualification to halt his progress. This was the Serbians 11th consecutive year making the fourth–round at the French Open.
Fresh from his win at the majors in Rome, the world No 1 has been on fine form so far in the competition. Dropping only 5 games in the third-round match-up. He faced Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan in the fourth, winning the match 6-0 6-3 6-2. Although the match wasn’t as plain sailing as the score-line suggests, the Colombian was unable to test Djokovic.
Karen Khachanov, the Russian No 15 seed is next up for Serbian star. Following his fourth consecutive time in the last 16, winning his tie against the Chilean Cristian Garin 6-2 3-6 6-4 6-2.
Providing he beats the Russian; Novak is on course for his second French Open title. Rafa Nadal with his staggering twelve Roland Garros titles is believed to be Novak’s biggest threat to the title. However young guns Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev have been in fine fettle so far in Paris.
