Rumours are flying around about headliners for next year’s Glastonbury, according to the official Glastonbury website the festival will take place from the 26th to the 30th of June next year, with many big artists leaving Glastonbury gaps in their touring schedules.
Earlier this year Emily Eavis, Glastonbury Festivals organiser, when responding to criticism that the festival had booked three male headliners, she said: “This year, we did have a female headliner but she unfortunately had to pull out… it changes all the time.
“But next year its looking like we’ve got two female headliners, so fingers crossed.” This statement seems confirms rumours of there being two huge female headliners this year.
One prominent rumour is the SK8er Boi singer Avril Lavigne, in late November she announced plans to tour the UK next year with dates in early July leaving her In the UK the week after Glastonbury.
Avril also has a string of European festival dates across June, with a Glastonbury gap in her schedule.
One huge Rumour is that of pop royalty Madonna being a Glastonbury headliner, rumours were sparked online as the festival organiser, Emily Eavis, was present at the first show of Madonna’s residency at the O2 in London. Emily also recently teased that one of the Glastonbury headliners would be a “huge American artist.”
Bruce Springsteen has announced UK & European dates which will see him perform from May to July next year, his tour dates have a Glastonbury shaped gap in them.
