Arsenal’s new star man,Viktor Gyokeres, made his debut for the gunners today in a 1-0 defeat against arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a pre-season friendly match in Hong Kong.
Pape Matar Sarr’s screamer from the half way line was the only difference between the two sides, in the first ever North London derby held outside of the UK.
After nearly 3 months of negotiations with Sporting Lisbon for the Swedish striker, he finally entered the pitch wearing the Arsenal badge in minute 77 of the match, while the gunners were already losing 1-0, and Gyokeres couldn’t make the difference this time round with the match finishing 1-0 to Spurs.
Viktor will hope that he can hit the ground running for Arsenal when the Premier League season starts in just a few weeks, with Arsenal facing Manchester United at Old Trafford in their first game of the season, of course the current boss of United being Ruben Amorim, of whom Viktor Gyokeres arguably played his best football under at Sporting Lisbon in past years.
