Joshua in shock talks over heavyweight fight against Jake Paul

Two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is reportedly in talks with Jake Paul regarding a shock fight in December in Miami.

It is set to take place following the cancellation of Paul’s fight against Gervonta Davis which was scheduled for November 14th.

The English heavyweight hasn’t been in the boxing ring since his defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, halting any faint hopes of a title shot.

Meanwhile the American influencer turned boxer last fought in a pro fight against 58-year-old Mike Tyson, winning on points.

Promotor Eddie Hearn believes that this fight could happen and sees this as the chance to extinguish Paul from Boxing.  “We will make a decision this week in terms of if he will fight this year. We have to decide by this weekend basically.

Financially, it’s a great opportunity for AJ – and you want to provide AJ with the opportunity to extinguish Jake Paul from the world of boxing, then maybe AJ would oblige.”

All parties are wanting for this fight to take place, although with a rushed timeframe for a potential bout to occur, an exhibition fight may be the realistic option which would mean it would not impact the win-loss record for either fighter.
