Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been named a surprising contender for the vacant Middlesbrough head coach position.
The former Netherlands star has been added to a longlist of potential suiters for the Boro managerial job, joining names such as Carlos Coberan and Steven Gerrard as Steve Gibson begins his search to replace the outgoing Rob Edwards.
Hasselbaink began his coaching career with Royal Antwerp before moving to English football management. He guided Burton Albion to promotion in 2015, later managing Queens Park Rangers, Northampton Town, and returning to Burton for a second spell.
The 53-year-old recently competed in the 2025 addition of BBC Strictly come dancing, but could be looking to return to a more familiar role at a club he knows so well.
