England Rugby barely held on as they beat Argentina 27-23 on Sunday, to go undefeated in the Autumn Nations Series and continue their 11 game win streak.
After being up 17-3 at half-time, the match suddenly turned around as the Pumas managed to pull it back to 17-16, 20 minutes into the second half. However, just minutes later a try from Slade, as well as a conversion and a penalty from Ford, helped secure the win for the Brits. A late Argentina try was disallowed, causing England to breathe a sigh of relief and allowing them to win their fourth game out of four.
England managed some other positive results during the competition, including a huge 33-19 victory against the All Blacks and a convincing 25-7 win over the Wallabies.
Charles Marsh, an England Rugby fan said: “Four out of four wins is a super positive, that’s your ideal outcome, you can’t ask for more than that. It puts them in a good mindset, a winning mindset, going into the six nations.”
“Another key factor to England’s results, is they have taken the finishers to a new level, bringing on British and Irish lions with 30 minutes to go and spreading the games between the whole squad has made a huge difference.” Said Simon Phillips, an England Rugby fan.
It was their first clean sweep of the Autumn Nations Series since 2021 where they beat Tonga, Australia and South Africa.
Charles Marsh said: “The defence of England was a standout for me, their defence more than their attack. Their defence was incredible, most of the time it was rock solid and I think that was critical to their victories.”
Simon Phillips said: “It looks good ahead of the six nations, but they do have some big challenges ahead as they play Scotland and France away and they don’t traditionally do well in those fixtures.”
England climbed to 3rd in the World Rankings after their great run in the Autumn Nations Series and will be hoping to prove themselves as one of the best teams in the world.
They will be looking ahead to the Six Nations and will be striving to continue their run of form ahead of some tough fixtures.
