Stranger Things Season 5 first impressions

The first episode of Stranger Things season 5 did not disappoint, the show being so anticipated an overwhelming numbers of fans eager to watch the long-awaited season caused Netflix to experience technical issues and a site outage.

The episode released gave us an idea of what Will experienced in the upside down, with the world of Hawkins expanding and how post season 4 affected the whole town.

The season’s special effects have also seen a dramatic upgrade. The opening five minutes of the episode, which were previously shown to viewers, feature a young Will Byers by digitally de-aging Noah Schnapp mapped onto rising actor Luke Kokotek.

The episode from the perspective of a viewer myself is that the episode had a steady pace which kept me gripped to the story line, the season opener felt like movie quality with brilliant sound effects, colour grading and camera angles.

The opener for this season has left fans anticipating more to come with episodes five, six and seven coming out the 25th of December (Christmas day), and the series finale to be released December 31st (New years Eve)
