On Wednesday the Marjon women’s rugby team played Bournemouth in an action-packed game. In the friendly Marjon started the game with 9 players due to the poor number of players, however they competed well scoring a lot of tries and making some big tackles to deny the full Bournemouth side.
Georgie Gratrix aged nineteen plays as a centre for the Marjon side. Her thoughts on the game where, “we were really strong in defence and attack and that it was a lot better”. This was displayed by the dominant performance by the team, which they will be hoping to continue these performances for their upcoming games.
Liv Carpenter was watching the game, and she thinks “That it was a really good game however it was disappointing it didn’t count due to not enough players.” This did let down the Marjon side as because they didn’t have enough players the game did not count to their season, however there was a lot of positives from their performance which they can take.
Hopefully the Marjon side will be able to recruit more players so they will be able to continue their performances and prevent any future matches being disqualified due to having low numbers.
