Argyle gain another 1-0 win as local fan shares his opinion

Plymouth Argyle recorded another 1-0 win over 15th placed Rotherham United. Midfielder Joe Ralls’s 42nd minute strike gave the Pilgrims all 3 points.

It was an improved performance from Tom Cleverley’s men as they secured just their 3rd win at Home Park this season. Argyle started fast with a real intent to score the first goal which they have lacked lately in recent months. Following pressure in the second half from the opposition the greens managed to see out their 1 goal advantage and climb to 21st in the table. 19-year-old Argyle fan Dan O’ Flaherty, who attended the game said ‘it was a well needed three points and it’s just nice to get a win at home for once’

The match winning goal came from experienced midfielder Joe Ralls who slotted home winger Owen Dale’s low cross beyond Cameron Dawson in the Rotherham net. Ralls only signed for the greens just over a month ago on a contract until January after being a free agent since leaving Cardiff City in the summer. Dan said, ‘he definitely deserved man of the match’.

Regarding the 32-year-olds future Dan also said, ‘I hope he stays beyond January because he’d definitely be a help come the end of the season and I think he is one of our best players right now’.

Argyles next couple games is away to Doncaster Rovers on the 20th of December. The greens will be looking for three wins from three as they travel up to Yorkshire. Dan said, ‘Doncaster will be a tough game obviously being away from home, they went to league leaders Cardiff and nearly beat them which shows they can be dangerous’.

The Pilgrims have a good record at the Eco-power stadium winning 3-1 in early 2022 and will be looking for a similar result again on Saturday.
