Cristiano Ronaldo has been selected by new manager Roberto Martinez in his first squad selection ahead of the upcoming European Championship qualifiers.
This comes after uncertainty about the Al Nassr stars future having moved to the Saudi Pro League at the end of 2022.
Ronaldo’s relationship broke down with former national team boss Fernando Santos after he opted to drop the 38-year old for crucial knockout games against Switzerland and Morocco in the 2022 World Cup.
However, despite this Martinez has opted to provide Ronaldo with a fresh start under his tenure. The record holding mens international scorer will still feel he has more to offer his country, chasing another European Championship after winning the competition in 2016.
Portugal face Liechtenstein and Luxembourg in qualifying games spanning across the next two weeks.
