Plymouth Argyle were thrashed 6-1 by Norwich City on Tuesday Night, with a hattrick from Borja Sainz. Plymouth Fans travelled the 660 miles round trip to Norwich and were left unhappy with the result. Argyle are still yet to win an away game this season only picking up 2 points, with draws against Derby County and Queens Park Rangers. Argyle fans are starting to get restless with lack of points gained way from home. With performance’s not seeming to change and the same results repeating themselves. “I Could Probably put the under-18 team out there and they wouldn’t concede six goals” said Rooney in his post-match interview.
Argyle fans are quick to show criticism. However, the blame seems to be more pointed towards the board and their choice of investment. Plymouth have one of the smallest budgets in the league, owner Simon Hallett has been vocal on how he has been looking for other investors in the club. Showing how he may not be capable of taking the club further up the league. Argyle Super Fan Jack he Said “The state of the club at the minute with just Simon Hallett, we won’t go anywhere in the championship”. Argyle fans are starting to believe that with recurring issues in multiple seasons that the board must be to blame.
Fans are hoping for more investment from the board in January. Argyle are struggling with injuries at the moment. Captain Joe Edwards and Star Man Cissoko are side-lined with injuries. These Injuries have weakened the squad as a result performances have dipped. This has highlighted the problem of squad depth amongst argyle fans. With them calling out for added investment in January to be able to survive in the league. Jack Believes that Argyle “need more strength in Defence,” slating current defender Victor Palsson claiming that “he wouldn’t be out of place in bottom half league on side.” Signings are needed across the squad but fans believe they need to strengthen their defence. Argyle have had one clean sheet all season coming against Portsmouth with 1-0 victory.
With argyle having such little investment fans are starting to lose belief that they are able to stay up in the championship. Owner Simon Hallett has made it clear that he wants Plymouth to be a sustainable Championship Team but has failed to show how he will make this possible. Jack Believes “There are a lot of cracks in the Club”
