Marjon 4’s season showing “glimpses of hope” despite defeat

Marjon 4s continued their winless run following a 4-0 home defeat to Winchester 3s yesterday.

Despite the result looking harsh on paper, and the 4s remaining at the bottom of the league table, it was a much-improved result and there were positives to take from the game. Especially considering Winchester sit second in the table.

Marjon 4s centre-back, Tom Gray said: “There’s been glimpses of hope and little signs of the team bonding. In the first half we were in the game and playing good football before we conceded a soft penalty.”

This mood seems to be consistent throughout the team. A feeling of optimism in the changing room despite the results not going their way so far this season.

4s Midfielder Jack Llewellyn said: “We’re a completely new team, new faces, I think we needed those first few games to gel. Obviously tough results but we know we are able to show much more quality in our performances going forward.”

Let’s hope that this glass-half-full attitude can see a change in Marjon’s season in the remaining games.
