It is now just over two weeks until the release of the latest Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker, and fans up and down the country are preparing themselves for the last film as the saga draws to a close.
With the final trailer released, fans get a glimpse at what characters Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren are expected to face during the final episode, with audiences being teased by hearing the voice of the supposed deceased Darth Sideous.
I think the trailer is well done and the teases set throughout the trailer make it exciting for audiences to see what is to come and what perhaps to expect from the film. The opening of the trailer makes us questions Rey’s motifs. Why does she drop the helmet? Is this series of events a sign of foreshadowing that she truly is a Skywalker? Furthermore, this scene almost reciprocates the training Luke Skywalker took with Yoda on his quest to become a Jedi in A New Hope.
Audiences will immediately recognize familiar looking backdrops, ships, and a chilling line given by C-3PO will make fans emotional. The trailer also gives a tease of the return of Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) who hasn’t been seen in the saga since Return of The Jedi in 1983.
The trailer gives a chance for audiences to raise questions of the series of unexpected outcomes. Is C-3PO to be killed off? How is Darth Sideous still alive? And Will we ever find out the true background of Rey – Is she a Skywalker? Hopefully these questions will be answered during the final episode and fans will learn what actually happened to Rey prior to the events of The Force Awakens.
