My current role at the University is a lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science. Mentoring people has been an area of my development specifically since 2014 and subconsciously since 2010. My volunteering since joining Marjon has allowed me to develop a very successful community-based sports programme mentoring adult volunteers from a variety of backgrounds that find themselves in an environment that they have minimal knowledge of. This experience of mentoring has given me the successful opportunity to work for The FA on their National Coach Mentoring programme for the past six years and during that time I completed the PGCert in Coaching and Mentoring here at Marjon. My volunteering roles as a mentor has seen me appointed as a mentor by Argyle Community Trust to support the committee and coaches for Plymouth Argyle Ladies FC.

Outside of my lecturing role I constantly engage with current students and alumni, offering mentoring support and guidance for their career pathway. I feel that the core skills, knowledge and attributes of being a good mentor is something that I have developed over a long period of time and constantly strive to improve. I would be happy for my mentee to be either staff or student.
