The client came into the clinic for a follow up appointment after seeing myself 2 weeks previously and receiving strengthening exercises for his Medial tibial Stress Syndrome. When asked what had changed from the previous appointment the client said that the pain had gone and the exercise appeared to have work. He explained that he had stopped running as recommended and had signed up to a spinning class which he was enjoying and felt fitter after 3 sessions, he started spending time in the gym on weights, however he said that he felt a bit insecure because he wasn’t confident in how to perform some of the exercise and how much weight and reps he should be incorporating.

The exercises that were prescribed in the last appointment were progressed with more weight and the client was taken into the gym where he was guided on the exercise machines and was shown what weight he should be working at on each of these. The client has been booked in to  the clinic in a weeks’ time to assess his gait and start a walk to run programme
