Luis Costa: Why Jose Mourinho will always be The Special One

Criticise him all you want, call for his sacking all you want, Jose Mourinho is the Special One.

He’s never been knocked out in the group stage in the Champions League and the two times he hasn’t been in it, he’s won the Europa League but he gets criticised for playing boring football?

Manchester United sealed a ticket to the Last 16 in injury time, which made Jose Mourinho very jubilant. However, before that in the first half he was (understandably) very, very frustrated.

This is Mourinho’s third season at the club now and he has seen plenty of dull games against ‘small’ opposition with horrendous misses. In all fairness, he could’ve been much tougher than he is with some of his strikers like Marcus Rashford.

The worst thing is that there are people who actually blame Mourinho for all the games that haven’t been won as if he’s the one who misses all them chances. I mean, if they want him on the pitch goalkeeper would be his main strength… but we all know the goal is well covered.

Why does Fellaini have to save the day once again? Lingard, Rashford and Alexis have 3 goals combined this season… They should go on YouTube to watch some Mbappe videos on how to actually score goals…

And obviously Romelu Lukaku can’t be left behind: Since he last scored at Old Trafford Manchester United has paid Alexis roughly £12 million, Manchester City have scored 83 goals, Real Madrid have had 3 managers and Mbappe has won 4 trophies. What has Lukaku been doing besides releasing a song track? The belgian forward needs to regain focus or his Manchester United career could be over soon.

My final thought is: What would’ve happened if Manchester United had not dropped so many points against mid table teams last season?

They would’ve finished second anyway, possibly 5 to 10 points behind Manchester City and he would’ve still got criticised, as usual.
