Green party co-leader Carla Denyer claims that the cost-of-living crisis should be “more accurately described as an inequality crisis” following the chancellor’s recent autumn statement.
Denyer spoke for the gap in equality to be shortened throughout the UK and stated her party hopes that a restructuring of the tax system would help revive the NHS and tackle the crisis hitting the public sector.
She said: “The government is actively choosing to tax wealthy people less than working people.”
Denyer also expressed her disappointment in the official opposition as they “repeatedly decline to equalise capital gains tax and income tax.”
