The Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer has said that the UK is facing an “inequality crisis”.
She believes that the tax system in the UK is unfair and has called for updated tax reforms.
Speaking for the first time since the chancellor’s autumn statement, Ms Denyer said: “Capital gains tax should be equal to Income tax.
“We would also update National Insurance and abolish non-doms which would also make our tax system fairer.”
Denyer added that Green Party policy is to “Introduce a wealth tax on the super-rich”.
She said: “Combined with capital gains and non-doms would raise 10 of billions of pounds which can go towards better quality public services and investing in the NHS.”
Ms Denyer has also promised healthcare workers an inflation matching payrise and investment in NHS dentistry.
