Gareth Southgate has refused to put any blame on Rico Lewis after giving away a penalty in the 1-1 draw to North Macedonia.
The England manager said “we are not looking at him as being at fault in any way”.
He then went on to say that the City defenders performance against the opposition “was excellent,” and that “his composure on the ball was outstanding and he should be really proud”.
After the brilliant performance from the youngster, Gareth now has a difficult decision ahead of EURO 2024 when it comes to naming his defenders.
