Match Preview: Everton v Arsenal

Sean Dyche’s Everton will travel to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Everton are eager to play after their weekend off due to storm Darragh postponing the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park. 

Arsenal have not lost to Everton since Sean Dyches first game in charge of the toffees back in February 2023. Apart from that one defeat Arsenal have defeated Everton four out of their last five times playing each other. 

Everton have won one out of their last five and are currently placed 15th, in their last game they defeated wolves 4-0 at Goodison park. The toffees have four very challenging games including this fixture with and likes of Man city and Chelsea, all four teams that Everton will be facing are all in the top five. 

Arsenal have won three out of their last five Premier League games and the other two ending in a draw. The gunners are currently third in the league and are also sat at third in the Champions League. During the Everton press conference at Finch Farm ahead of the Arsenal game Sean Dyche said: “They’re certainly a force to be reckoned with without a doubt. We know you gotta go to these places and play well.”

Everton have suffered some crucial injuries this season with the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, James Garner, Tim Iregbunam and plenty more. Players are slowly starting to get back on the pitch and getting minutes for the club. Armando Broja came on for the first time for the toffees against Wolves after being injured for the first half of his loan spell. Michael Keane will also be available for the game on Saturday. Players Tim Iregbounam and James Garner still remain out for the game on saturday however Dyche said in his press conference that progress is being made. 

Both teams are hoping to get a result for different reasons in this highly contested game at the Emirates Stadium.
