Kendrick Lamar “swept up” Grammy nominations

American rapper Kendrick Lamar has topped the charts after receiving nine Grammy nominations on Sunday night.

The 38-year-old, who previously won awards for “Not Like Us”, has been nominated again for several categories including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Lady Gaga was awarded seven nominations, including Record and Song of the Year with her song “Abracadabra”. Sabrina Carpenter is also up for Record of the Year as well as best music video with her song “Manchild”. The hit Netflix movie K Pop Demon Hunters is fierce competition with the song “Golden” receiving many of the same nominations.

The award ceremony will take place on Sunday 1st February 2026.
