Live Blog: ’tis the season for entertainment

November 27th is a largely uneventful day for the UK; however, across the pond, it marks one of the largest national celebrations, Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is the celebration of the British settlers coming to peace with the native Americans, a peace treaty that was held over a turkey dinner. Thanksgiving is now a day to celebrate what we are grateful for and typically involves spending time with loved ones.

Today also marks the release of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. The first four episodes of the season have been released today, with the other 4 being released towards the end of the holiday period.

The season has been showered with glowing reviews already and is set to be the highest-rated season of the already critically acclaimed show.

Two other notable pieces of media have recently had their trailers released in the last couple of days, being the new Hunger Games movie and the second season of Percy Jackson. Both pieces of media stem from best-selling book series and have seen incredible success through their on-screen adaptations.

A movie that is also attracting the spotlight right now is Wicked, for good, the second part of the on-screen adaptation of the West End show. Although it hasn’t been met with the onslaught of glowing reviews its predecessor was, it’s still claimed to be a spectacular watch

Tate McRae has also released a new album, “so close to what???” Which was released on the 21st of November. The album was preceded by singles like “It’s OK I’m OK” and “2 Hands”.

As we enter the holiday season, cities and towns all over the world start opening their annual Christmas markets. Plymouth will open its market this evening and will stay open till the 21st of December.
