The figurehead II statue, which was originally an exhibit at The Box in Plymouth, will be unveiled tomorrow at the Marjon Art centre.
The change of location is due to the ‘Plymouth Public Art Plan’, a strategy created to attempt a reconnection between Plymouth and its public art. Its origin is from back in September 2020, where it was commissioned by the Box and to be used as a main feature during the ‘Making it’ exhibition.
The genius mind behind the sculpture was Alexandre da Cunha, a Brazilian-British artist who is well-known for his sculptures and wall mounted works created out of found objects.
