Arsenal near ever closer to a first league title for four years. They have beaten Manchester City 2-1 at Meadow Park.
A wonder goal from Katie McCabe sealed the result for the Gunners, who are vying for both domestic and European success.
In what could be a title-deciding result, both Manchester City and Arsenal are looking to come out with all three points.
When they played each other earlier on in the season, City came out the victorious side, thanks to goals from Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly.
It was in that match that Hemp scored their fastest goal of the season; finding the net in just over three minutes. City will be hoping to get off to another quick start this time around.
The sides are currently separated by three points, but the gunners have a game in hand. They will be looking to close this gap, if they fail to do this, they could potentially be leaving themselves too much to do.
Arsenal are the side to have conceded least this season, but City do have Bunny, the player currently leading the Golden Boot race.
Manchester City remain unchanged since their 2-0 victory of Chelsea last weekend.
Arsenal see two changes since their Champions League victory midweek. It sees the Lotte Wubben-Moy come in for the injured Kim Little and Sabrine D’Angelo becomes the player between the sticks.
This change also sees Leah Williamson become captain and moved into midfield.
Arsenal fans will hope Little’s injury isn’t too serious, with Mead, Miedema and Steph Catley already out injured.
Arsenal had the first chance of the half, with Lia Walti attempting a shot from the wing, which was easy for Ellie Roebuck to claim.
Bunny Shaw allowed City to replicate their fast start from February, with a header in the first five minutes. Lotte Wubben-Moy will be disappointed with her defending to allow Bunny so much space.
There was great build up to the goal, all through the final third, with the ball going out wide, before Kelly found Shaw sat in the box.
Katie McCabe didn’t help Arsenal with their poor start. She received a very early a yellow card for hitting Kelly in the head when taking a throw in, following it up with giving the referee some grief too.
D’Angelo went down injured around 20 minutes into the match, allowing Jonas Eidevall to provide his players with some fresh tactics and team-talk.
Caitlin Foord took Esme Morgan on, on the left wing, with Morgan keeping her at bay and allowing Roebuck to make an easy save.
Williamson took a shot from outside with the box, with Greenwood making the block with her head. This attempt was then followed up with Roebuck denying Blackstenius to take a shot.
It seems that the Arsenal players have taken onboard the words of Eidevall. They are now playing with more tempo and pace, and are looking like more of a threat.
Arsenal wasted another chance, with Frida Mannum blasting the ball over the net from a McCabe cross.
Hasagawa is once again, City’s star player in midfield. She is once again finding it all too easy to dictate play.
Bunny nearly found the net for a second time, in a similar fashion she found the first. She just couldn’t connect to the ball.
Caitlin Foord was substituted for Laura Weinrother, towards the end of the second half. Arsenal fans will be hoping this isn’t another player on their ever-growing injury list.
This substitution saw McCabe put pushed up from Left-back to Left wing, another player playing out of position for the Conti Cup Winners.
Lauren Hemp fails to double City’s lead, failing to convert what should have been an easy goal. City are proving to be dangerous the right wing, during this match.
Arsenal are looking to go in at half time all-level, but City find it easy to clear McCabe’s corner.
Bunny finds it easy to keep the ball and get into space, before perfectly laying it off to Hemp, who forces a save from D’Angelo.
The corner is followed up by a Hasegawa shot, which clears the crossbar. City are the team ending the half well, and will be kicking themselves they haven’t managed to find the net more.
It was a strong start for both sides in the second half, both creating chances but failing to register them on target.
Hemp fired a cross in from the left, but it failed to make Hasagawa or Coombs.
Maanum manages to find the back of the net, after a scrap in the box and equals the scoring to 1-1.
The pace of the game has stepped up, with both sides looking to get ahead. But they are both struggling to retain position.
Kelly is the next player to miss the chance to put her side ahead, as her shot goes just wide of the post.
Eidevall is the first to make a substitution, making three, brining Kuhl on for Pelova, Blackstenius off for Jodie Taylor and Noelle Maritz for Jen Beattie.
Lia Walti is the second Arsenal player to get her name in the book, providing City with a free kick. City fail to make anything of it.
Maanum forces Roebuck to pull off one of her best strikes to prevent the gunners from going ahead.
Arsenal show no sign of letting up and Katie McCabe provides a sensational strike to put Arsenal ahead with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Aleixandri forces a save from D’Angelo to prevent them from drawing level.
In a hope to draw level, Manchester City bring on Haley Rasso. This change is followed by Casparij coming on for the injured Aleixandri.
Both sides will be waiting to find out the Chelsea result, who face Aston Villa later on today.
A win for Chelsea will see them climb back to second and see Manchester City fall down to fourth.
