Philippa Elford

Employability Coordinator, Plymouth Marjon University

My Edublog

My Edublog is primarily for students from Plymouth Marjon University. My pages provide pointers regarding reflective placement learning journals, professional development planning and employability. Futures online provides extensive and up to date resources on personal and professional development for Marjon students, alumni and staff and can be accessed via: http://elearning.marjon.ac.uk/eres/futures/

Networking

My role as Employability Coordinator  involves me managing the system for non-statutory sport and health science related placements and supporting module staff and students through this process. I am also passionate about promoting paid, voluntary and professional development opportunities to students with the ultimate aim of making them more ’employable’ when they graduate.

As well as working closely with the Faculty I am also part of the university’s Futures team. The Futures team work focuses on employability, enterprise, education and experience.  We are the part of the university that looks after careers, travel, volunteering, enterprise, professional development and employability. We have a very hands on approach to everything that we do and like to get students involved with regular activities throughout the year. We regularly post information about jobs and other interesting links on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
