I graduated from Southampton Solent University with a degree in Maritime Leisure Management and went on to work for the Royal Yachting Association, based in Southampton. On returning to Plymouth I started working for the University of St Mark and St John in various sport development roles and completed an MA in Applied Sport Development with the University of Exeter. My research interests include barriers to watersports participation for young people and pedagogy for employability. I work with the Faculty of Sport, Health and Wellbeing to help facilitate in excess of 200 placements each year and am passionate about promoting paid, voluntary and professional development opportunities to students. I also provide information, advice and guidance to students and staff on ’employability’ skills, personal and professional development.
